The home page is a great way to showcase your content.
Your home page is the first thing users see after they have logged into the system, which means it forms the first impression of your content. The way it looks depends on certain settings, as the home page displays a set of previews of your selected collections, arranged according to a predetermined layout. Below are some tips on how to make it outstanding.
Mind that the home page can also be used for quick navigation to the most current collections as clicking on a collection preview on the home page will take you to the feed of assets to which the same filter has been applied.
When the home page has not been configured, users, upon logging in or resuming their previous session, will see the feed of assets.
The home page is made up of different types of blocks, which in turn contain previews* of different collections. There are 3 types of blocks:
* collection preview = preview of the main collection asset
- Type 1 - is a block which represents only one collection and you cannot create more than one block of this type on your home page.
- Type 2 - blocks of this type are displayed as tiles. There can be a maximum of 6 such blocks. Technically, 1 block = 1 collection (see image below).
- Type 3 is a feed of previews, which can be scrolled left and right. Technically, this feed represents one block (see image below). Any number of blocks can be created. There is no limit to the number of collections in the feed.
Remember that users can only see those collections which they have access to.
- If you want the home page to be fully displayed to all users, including unauthorised ones, use only the collections with the Public status for the home page.
- If you set the home page for authorised users only, use the collections with the General status for your home page.

To set up the home page, proceed as follows
- In the admin panel, go to Main_Page > Content blocks.
This page shows all the available blocks. In the example above, we can see that there are no blocks available at the moment.
After creating your workspace in the admin panel, you will see pre-configured blocks of different types. Even though they are shown as active, some steps should be taken to make the main page active. The instructions below will guide you on how to create new blocks or edit the existing ones.
- Click on the button
to add a new block or click on an existing block to edit it.
- This will open the window for performing this operation.
- Fill in the fields:
Slug is a system name. It is not displayed on the main page, but used to check if newly created blocks are unique.
Title Use this field to name the blocks of Types 1 and 3. These names will be displayed in the user interface. Find the information on how to name blocks of Type 2 below.
To set the names of type 2 blocks go to Options in the admin panel and change the value of the following property (if you cannot see these preset objects, just create them).
Query - this field is for a code in the JSON format which is used to filter collections. This code determines which collections will be shown on the main page. Read more about the Query field and ways to filter collections for the main page here: How to use the collection/asset filter to configure your workspace .
Block type - choose one of three possible types of blocks to create blocks of collections for the main page.
Active - a switch to enable or disable block display. This allows you to create more blocks in draft format, but activate and display only part of them.
Sort - a parameter which allows you to sort the order of the blocks.
This function does not set the order of collection previews inside a block, but the order of blocks of the same type. It is not necessary to set it for blocks of Type 1, as only one block of this type can be displayed on the main page.
For the blocks of Type 2, sorting affects the arrangement of collection previews, which collection will follow which in the tile grid. For blocks of Type 3 the sorting affects the arrangement of the feeds. Suppose you have created several Type 3 blocks, you can use sorting to specify which feed will go above and which will go below.
